Hi all
I am in New Zealand and am looking at a ver nice traveller for sale.
It has not had any mods done to the head and is being run on 91 octane.
The guy has basically told me that it isnt a problem end of story!!
Any advice appreciated

If you do low mileages and tend not to drive for prolonged periods at high speed, chances are it's not a problem. If, like me, your car is going to do 20k a year then you'll want an additive or an unleaded head.
Additives - at least here - are fairly cheap; unleaded heads - even getting a head converted - is not that expensive (I was quoted 150quid for having an A-series head reconditioned and converted to unleaded by a local engine shop). You may be lucky, and run for years on unleaded without a problem. Or you may be unlucky and have valve seat recession very quickly.
It depends on your driving style, how much you drive, and how lucky you are.
