So, another day of hard graft. I'll post the pictures in a couple of hours.
First of all, some people really shouldn't weld. Like the man/woman who welded Vicks.
I turned the car on its side today, using a pulley(?) a thingy with chains, this is what the translater spat out.
I cleaned of the underseal, revealing solid metal, unfortunately she was welded using a frying pan...
We removed the lower outer undersill (there should be only one layer of metal... there now is!) and cleaned the undersill, marked it, so we know where to cut'n'weld it.
Elisabeth helped me to move Vicks gearbox to my premises, where it now lives in the living room.
I'll let the pictures do the talking.

First of all, some general pictures

Now some more detailed pictures
The pulley. (NOTE, I didn't use it like this to turn her on her side!)

The late under outer undersill

The excellent welding skills of the previous owners
And this is one of the relatively good welds!

The car was MOT worthy when I started! Double sills, double everything! Makes it a royal pain in the rear quarters to put right though!

Onne, I hope this plank'o'wood isn't the only thing keeping your car on her side!

More piccies at last, I have been a busy lad today, I have sanded down the grille panel.
Guess what I found... and its not the remote control!

the panel was repaired some time in its life

I was talking about more holes and rust.

Well the sofa isn't going anywhere... yet.

All bearings need replacing, they are a bit oval so to say
