The last registrar had three classes of modification- modified/sport modified/custom but coming from a driver/modifier/reader point of view its probably as much a matter of interesting change-whether for safety, looks, utility, performance or all the above.

There are degrees to modifying & then some serious major alterations. What is useful, worthwhile etc can be very subjective and while some proposals might need some editing for safety, most could be left to the reader/ member.

Innovator and his web section of modified cars was very helpful for us amatuer modifiers. Helped us to uprate our Moggie with a 1600TC-makes driving a lot of fun ! As he said "PS I still have all my Custom Register newsletters. " What a treasure ! That collection of past published letters would be an invaluable starting point.

It's good to see that people are taking the modified/custom register seriously and acting in the 'spirit' of the register.

I read that Innovator still had all the newsletters too - any chance of a re-issue of them?

John, I guess from some of your recent posts you're doing some house/garage building now in your spare (if such a thing) time. But, do you think your copies are capable of reprinting as is for wider distribution or need more selective editing to capture at least the popular mods & car building tips and then be reproduced (with proper ack of writers) ? Whatever happens in the Register, wouldn't these be a valuable info base for future comments & renewed inputs ?
