Just be aware Onne, there are at least 2 Platinum Greys.
In the late '80s, when I first started to paint mine, I was well chuffed to find my local paint supplier had a listing for Platinum Grey.
I thought it was a bit light when I opened the tin but I thought it might darken up when on the car (first time sprayer then
).
Not happy at all when is turned out to be nearly white in comparism with the original Platinum Grey
.
At least it was a similar colour to the primer I used & it covered it up nicely

I will do. problem is, I have never seen Platinum grey in the flesh, but it is supposed to be grey with a hint of brown.
Well, not light grey anyway. Nor dark grey.

More like a lightish olive grey if you can imagine that.
I would like to think NWL576 is the right colour, but other things are incorrect on it so the colour may well be too

I know someone who does know how it looks.
I'd better go look on the car, and take some polish, it's still on the dash!

Well, there's Cams picture of NWL576:

Here's a model Oxford in the same colour:

Actually, there was a nicely restored Platinum Grey Oxford at a show in Sydney last year. I'll have to track him down & ask where he obtained the colour formula from.
**Edit**
Bigginger can't see the Oxford, here's the link if you can't see it either:

Pah! Crossplies look SO much better than the fat, podgy, wobbly radials. Yuk!Multiphonikks wrote:But keep the radials eh?

OK, radials do have better road manners but crossplies are perfectly fine if you can drive OK. I mean before radials came out and were factory fitted to all cars (only late 60s?) everybody coped fine. It will also be closer to the true period driving experience too!

My '52 will have crossplies for originality's sake. Plus I think it's a bit funky too to be different from the rest of the modern crowd.
