rear wing removal
I have to spray a rear wing to get rid of a few scratches. How difficult is it to remove the wing completely as this should make the spraying easier?

There are 7 or 8 1/2" bolts which should have captive nuts, but these may have been replaced with non captive ones, or they might just break. They arn't too hard, but I had to grind some of the bolts when I did it earlier this year. there are also 3 bullet connectors to undo for the rear lights

the rear wing bolts are quite likely to be 1/4" whitworth (certainly will be whitworth on the older cars). 1/4" whitworth head size is approx 13.3mm (same as 5/16" BS)
If they are stuck, use a lot of release fluid, leave them overnight etc...
You can also try to tighten them a fraction before removing. on a 2 door saloon you can access some of the nuts to spray release fluid form inside by removing the rear trim panels. On a 4 door the front captive nuts ones are completely enclosed.
Good luck!
