Brand new (it says) 1098 block on ebay - near Canterbury. Bit too far away for me - good buy for someone. Was at 99p when I looked. Search under '1098' - always a good search to run anyway !

I was waiting until I gat a reply about the condition / rust on the bores etc...

Got a response from seller - sounds like it is one really worth having.
Let me know if you're bidding or not ;-)

Cost of transporting makes it uneconomic for me.

I'm going to bid but probably not till the last moment. It would be a good base for my rebuild if I can get it for the right price.

I won a lister stationary engine last night with 3 secs to go works well for me. I don't know how popular a block would be. I.m hoping to reuse all my bit with just new rings, pump and shells.

I didn't win the 1098 block. - oh well never mind I expect the other bidder needed it more than me!

A fair price then ! Still less than the cost of a re-bore. Anyone on here own up ?

Better luck next time.
