sooty van
My van is leaving sooty marks on the drive. Not sure whether its running too rich, I've looked at the plugs which seem to be the perfect colour. Don't think its buning oil (no blue smoke).
Can it be simply the fact that the exhaust pipe on commercials point downwards and that the sootyness is normal?
Cheers

The chrome tail pipe on my Morris 1000 car points downwards and a similar thing happens . Given up worrying about it !!

My traveller used to leave a HUGE sooty mark (either on the floor of the garage or on the front wall of the house) - the engine then died
