Come on Nikki, I've just been on the phone to Jonathon for 30 mins. He said something about limiting the revs for 3 months :D :D

I wouldn't want to let the cat out of the bag but it's little furry face is poking out of the top

Now I need to come to Bristol again, and sooner than next year!

This time I will use Bristol airport, now that I found out easyjet uses it.

Could have saved me £100 on train tickets

Getting back on topic, quite a few of these are cropping up in breakers yards but I think that you would have to move the gear lever opening back slightly

I wonder if you can undo the crank pulley nut with the starter motor?

Also the front crankshaft seal looks a b*gger to replace :o

Hope your planning to upgrade the brakes

edit: anyone got a head stud tightening guide?

something like:

Could be possible as a mid-engine layout but you'd probably need 8 leaf springs.

Lots of them! :o

I've been concidering fitting a 2l zetec as practical performance car have dome a guide on completing the RWD Conversion. Jonothan has said that the cooling pipe on the back of the engine will foul the bulkhead though. It will also need somebody to make up custom engine mountings. My 2l zetec focus after superchips have breathed on it has 120 at the wheels they thought something like 150 at the fly. That seems like a reasnoble amount of power for a mog. However I could be tempted into a straight 14 25,480 liter engine. Might have to moove the bulkhead back a little bit though

Two main things to consider when thinking about different engines for Minors.....

1) The Minor engine bay is very short and this limits the choice of engines if you want retain a normal radiator position.

2) Engine wieght. As any engine you fit is going to sit in front of the wheels you want a light engine.

One of the reasons the Fiat engine was so popular was because the engine is very short.

Ah! Welcome back onto the board after a wee break, John! Does this mean you've just finished another of the famed Beadmore specials?!?!? :)

I saw a traveller with a 2 litre diesel engine in it at a show once, and apparently it went very well whilst also being quite frugal. If I remember correctly I think the engine was from a Montego (Perkins Prima?), which would also mean that there are plenty of cheap donors around.

Nikki,

I am taking a break from serious car building for a while! The 6 plus years creating the latest is enough for now.

The latest bit of work has been building a garage at my house. Its a 7m x 4m home for my Minor. After years of working in my parents single garage I know have space!
