Recognising a clutch!
Can anyone tell me how to recognise a Morris Minor clutch,as I bought a NOS one a few years ago ,just in case! Unfortunately I have never seen one in the flesh ,so to speak and I am not entirely sure now that it is from a Minor as I bought from a boot sale! It looks very similar to the pictures in the workshop manual. It is Borg and Beck and the pressure springs are orange and the anti rattle springs are green if that`s any help?

Try the centre on the end of a Minor gearbox to see if it fits. Also, if the friction material sandwiches between the clutch cover and flywheel then it will work with a Minor! It should be 7 1/4" diameter for a 1098 or 6 1/4" for all other Minors.
Take a picture and post in on here and we can tell you if it looks like a Minor one too! (mind you, they all look very similar).
A 1098 clutch kit looks like this:

All the others look like this:

I don`t have a spare gearbox to try it on .It is indeed 7 1/4inches and looks very much like the 1098cc one.The friction material is in a continuous circle and not in segments like the photo.I will take a photo tomorrow but I don`t know how to put it on here,if I could e-mail it to some kind person perhaps they could put it on.

Thanks for the pics guys - it'll remind me what a clutch 'should' look like when I take Wilberforce to bits next weekend!!
The clutch adjustment made last weekend turns out to have been needed because something nasty was underfoot
and whatever was self destructing within the bell housing has completed its self destruction!
[No amount of adjustment made any difference (not even bodging a bigger bellhousing hole!) and having a car that won't get into gear 180 miles from home is a bit of a pain]
