Carpet cleaning

Post by Peetee »

I learned a useful technique today. If you are scrubbing up stubborn stains from your Minor's carpet and they just won't budge, use a squeeze of vanish liquid, rub it well in and leave it on the area for a few minutes. Then using the plastic edge of a ice scraper vigourously scrub it across the area in each direction. It works far better than a stiff brush. You can also use the scraper to remove most of the water when the piece has been rinsed thoroughly.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

They did indeed mate. The only stubborn areas were around the gearstick gaitor and where the seat frames left rust marks.
I spent ages with a stiff brush but it couldn't get deep into the pile. I started using the window squeegy to help dry them out then noticed how much dirt was coming out as well even though they lookd 'clean'.
