Unleaded Engine ID?

Post by Packedup »

I've got an engine (in a Metro) that I'm sure I checked as being an unleaded one by referencing the number. Trouble is, I want to make sure it is unleaded, and I can't find the website with the list of numbers anymore :(

This is kind of important as I'm hopefully selling it, and I really want to be sure I'm not ripping the buyer off before getting a fistful of cash! :)

What year is the car ? But assuming it's an A series car - it doesn't really matter anyway - just run it on unleaded.

Late 88, so on the crossover. I'm desperately trying to remember what sequences of numbers denote unleaded engines before selling this one - It's hopefully going to someone on here, and as they want unleaded, and I want to sell unleaded, I want to triple check it is unleaded! Apparently it won't be all that gently driven, so running it on unleaded if it isn't the right head wouldn't be such a good idea anyway :)

Looks like it's an unleaded, as I thought (thank goodness for that!) :)

This engine starts 12H25, which according to that makes it a 9:1 comp unleaded engine. Fingers crossed this is correct now!
