No worries - Swiss cheese memory and computer probs are par for the course for me, so the chances of both sides remembering at the same time are probably bleak

Nope, I've lost them - oh, unless they're still on the camera, hang on...

Don't know if they're any help, they just seem to be the ones that you already know about. 2 at each red arrow to the sides, a few by the downwards pointing red arrow, and 3 each side on the hockey sticks (green arrow).

Thanks :)

The two side red ones I know about (and currently have done up with 7/16 bolts, which I guess is correct?), but the interesting thing is actually the shape of the horizontal member where the lower ones go. The pickup has had a home made one welded in, with no holes in it, and there's not a lot of metal to try and line everything up to (the repair is either the wrong shape or not lined up I suppose). Looks quite different to yours.

Gives me a bit more info to try and remember and compare, a big thanks for finding the pics :)

I'll try and get a better photo of the front cross member - and see if I can find 2 chassis' with cross members that are the same, and maybe original to try and work out how many bolts there should be. Notice how I cunningly didn't say? I think (judging by the state of it) that the blue one still has the original, so I'll have a count tomorrow.
Is the replacement in yours much narrower (front to back) than the one in the pic? That's a standard mod for fitting a Fiat twin cam, so maybe it's a member for that engine swap - used (as I'm going to) because one has one, but not a pattern one...

ello

according to ESM the front cross-member in a van and pick-up is differently made from that in a saloon or traveller. Dunno if it makes much odds to the fit of the front panel though cos the panels themselves are the same.

The larger of the two panels, the one which has to go on first, has five bolts holding it on along the bottom. The cross-member which forms the front of the engine bay floor has these five holes in it, plus one more on each end - a total of seven. It is oddly shaped so that it matches up with the bottom edge of the smaller front panel, which goes on after the large one.

I'll send you some photos - how large files can your connection handle?

I've just set up another email account with my ISP, so have about a 200M inbox for it now - I'd hope you're not trying to send anything bigger than that! :)

Will bang you a quick mail with the new addy.

I can send you a pick of a good front crossmember if you send me your addy.
The saloon and LCV are slightly different but the holes to attach the front panel are the same.
