Rear Chassis Section, + Other Rot

I don't like welding either, but I just don't seem to have to either... me and my luck....

Yeah, the panels can be a bit tricky to find on the website, but I just click on 'panels' and click through the pages 'till I find what I want...

No, the LCV one is different to the saloon.

I tried that, but not instantly recognising random bits of panelwork in small pictures, or knwongi the right name for the panel, kind of got in the way!

Thought it would be, but worth asking as the rear foot or so really is quite good on that chassis from what I remember). Unfortunately the rest of it is rotten as hell, although should anyone be interested in taking it away before it goes in the skip, let me know!

Not having a good automotive day today, so didn't get round to giving the 2 door a good prodding. I did take a look at the air filter assembly though - It seems to be invisible (so I must've removed it at some time and hidden it somewhere), so looks like I'm not going to be able to give a good one away after all

Yes, in the past, I've not been sure of what panels to buy, but after doing the Trav, my panel recognition skills have vastly improved!

I only bought one wrong panel by mistake- that was a 2-door panel, and I have a Trav and a 4-door (and hope to buy a van!). Luckily, SR needed same panel and he had one spare that I needed! So it worked out allright in the end.

BTW, I must be weird because I really enjoyed the experience of cutting out rusty sections and welding in new on the Trav, especially satisfying when its a repair peice I made and the result is good!

PACKED UP....yes, number 13 is the one! when welding the new
outer section it is necessary to weld a bit at a time to prevent heat
distortion. I spent a lot of time afterwards trying to blend the curve
in nicely with filler.
