Hi :lol:

what is the correct lubrication for the steering rack and steering house ?
The original little instruction book says Hypoid oil and NOT grease !!
Is that correct ?

Yes.

Sometimes it's easier to remove the lubrication nipple and squirt it in with an oil can, rather that use a grease gun. Two or three squirts should do it IIRC.

Yes - EP 90 oil. It's a bu99er to fill. As lond as the boots are not leaking it really shouldn't need any more oil. Certainly important not to over-fill it !

The steering rack is lubricated through a hole in the passenger
toe board where you will find a rubber bung. Officially you should
give no more than 12 strokes of the gun. A grease gun will usually
pump the EP 90 oil quite easily BUT if the oil will not go in the nipple
cut some one inch square pieces of cotton cloth(old shirt) and place
one between the gun and the nipple. This will usually form a good
seal but if it still leaks out of the side then double the cloth!.
