Ok... is hould probably ring suppliers but does anyone know if you can get new door skins? if so approximately how much do they cost?

ESM sell complete door skins (over £100) and door repair panels (about £15).

but its the bottoms that usually go, if full 4-door skins are not available, then repair what you do have with what is available.

Thats what I'm going to do when i restore my 4-door (starting soon!)

Usually cheaper, better and much less work to get a 2nd hand door than consider re-skinning it. Usually the 'frame' underneath has rotted too so the 'skin' is being attached to rot! That's assuming of course that the door is bad enough to warrant a skin and not just a lower repair panel.

The only problem with that is that since the day I replaced my door with a second hand door off another minor it's never quite shut as well. It's been fiddled with no end, but at the end of the day it either won't shut at all, won't shut and latch without slamming or pops onto it's safety catch (if it's positioned so you don't have to slam it). So I've got one door which *looks* much nicer than the others (at least, from the outside) but you have to slam it quite hard to get it to shut properly....

That's why I am reluctant to fit my reconditioned doors in place of the originals on my minor (should have reconned originals) - been there before and I know it's a nightmare (so should have known better).

Trouble is though if you've removed the door and re-skinned it (and or made structural repairs), it might not fit as well as it did, so you might well end up in the same situation!
