I live on the edge of South London. Londoners tend to think of distance in terms of how long a journey takes rather than actual miles travelled. The UK is densely populated with a lot of traffic that slows journeys down. As a student I studied in Edinburgh but my family were in Worthing on the South Coast. That journey is about 480 miles, depending on the route. I would drive overnight leaving at about 10pm and it was fairly painless except for trying to stay awake! In those days a lot of coffee and cigarettes. I would arrive in the early morning in time for breakfast and usually I would then go to bed until lunchtime.

A nice idea and I would be pleased to write such an article but is travel in an old car in western Europe really interesting?
I thought that too when I drove mine from London to Munich a couple of years ago. I absolutely loved it but being that I had no major problems, I didn't think it would be that interesting to anyone else.

Downhill through one or two of the French national parks was a bit squeaky bum.

It looks in better condition than mine and has a red stripe rather than a black one, that mine has. The number plate is interesting. The red colour is indicative of a lower, perhaps cost free tax bracket, I do not know, but you are resticted to only being able to drive on public roads to classic events. whether ones abroad classify?

We may find out when I submit my completed script to the magazine . If it is rejected, we will know why.
