Oil leaking from differential case next to filler plug

Post by WoodyMM »

Hello all,

I noticed that there is oil leaking from the differential case. First I thought it was leaking from the filler plug but this is not the case.
Its leaking from the ring where the filler plug is screwed in, between this ring and the case as indicated on the picture.
Any ideas on how to solve this?
Thank, Marco

The easiest way is to spotlessly clean it all up and use 2 pack metal putty to seal.

Milliput is a well known 2-pack epoxy putty and it comes in black. There are others of course. I carry an unopened pipe leak repair putty in the car. Very handy for " on tour" emergency patching of radiator leaks etc.
