Hi there I wonder if someone can help me find out if my moggy is a deluxe or not as it has 2 sun visors and I read that non deluxe models only had 1 in 1959
Also it has an ashtray under the dash.
Both glovebox kids with chrome surround
Bumper over riders
But no rear ashtray was this an extra?
I am trying to find out if mine was a deluxe model or maybe has some extra options from factory
Is there an easy way to tell please

It sounds potentially like a deluxe spec, although things like the over riders could be a later addition. Are the seats leather faced or vinyl ? Standard spec was full vinyl seats and deluxe had the seats faced in leather.
As I understand, the rear ashtray was an optional extra.

You're right, as standard, it was only a Deluxe that had 2 visors, but then the body shell would have blanking plugs in the holes so anyone could fit a 2nd visor.... same with the ashtray; and of course the exact Deluxe Spec varied a little year by year
What you could do is download copies of the two Parts Books and check out such features.
Look for AKD 3541 and AKD 3542 as pdf downloads online and browse away....

There is usually a capital "D" within the chassis number if the car was built as a deluxe. This feature was only introduced around that time however so your car might not have that.
As somebody has said, a standard car had only one sunvisor originally. There are no blanks fitted to the holes of a 1959 car in that area as the sunvisors are only secured with 2 self tapping screws. After 1964 a more elaborate sunvisor was introduced and the steel rail above the windscreen was altered to suit. Because these later visors required larger fixings, even the standard cars had the holes punched in production and it was at this time that blanks were fitted into the unused holes on standard specification vehicles
A Heritage Certificate from the motor museum at Gaydon should give you all the production information if you want it.
Few cars remain in exactly the same form as they were built all these years later.
