While these springs are certainly the basis of a good idea has anyone considered the appearance and fitment for a Minor?

They don't look particularly large on a modern wiper arm, but at 2.55" width and almost 4" length...

A Minor Wiper Arm, depending on model year, is around 1/2" to 1/4".
Anyone notice that an image of one actually fitted is almost non existent

I did find this one, obviously fitted to a modern. Would it fit on a Minor, or would it slide around while moving?
Has anyone tried them?

Most likely they would need to be modified. The distance between the arm pivot point to the outside circumference of the hub on my wiper is about 1-1/8”. Where would that put the coil of the helper spring.
How practical would it be to fit a shorter spring or move the outer anchor hole for more stretch in the existing spring.
Is the fit of the problem wiper to the shaft a tight fit. There can be lost motion at that joint.

I did wonder, but there is clearly a market for them somewhere, as they seem to be widely available.
As most moderns seem to have black wiper arms, they wouldn't notice on them.

I thought they were a cheap and nasty chinesium alternative to replacing the spring loaded arm on moderns.

I bought a couple of similar springs for the Discovery 2 which had a similar problem. Firstly I couldn't get them to fit and secondly the springs were so strong I was terrified that if one of them slipped whilst I was trying to fit it then the windscreen could get cracked. They went in the bin.

The Minor wiper motor is rather weak even with everything in perfect working order. If the wiper arm springs were really strong, I doubt the wipers could even move across the screen!

Should of fitted them to the bin lid Keith to keep the squirrels out They look the one used on mouse traps
