MM and Series 2 Wing Flap inserts and clips

Post by taupe »

Has anyone recently sourced replacements for any of these components?

Were they used on the MM as well as early (or all) series 2 front wings?

I think Ive seen the clips used elsewhere for cable fixings...like these stainless steel ones below used for solar panel cables which are quite similar?

I guess the plastic flaps could easily be 3D laser printed?

:-? What did they actually hold in place??

They were ADA 2657....
I found them in the LCV parts book I have, which covers all years.
They are listed as ceasing at the end of SII (chassis #49767).

.
I found a discussion about them, with this image from 2021, on an Austin-Healey 3000 Forum, where they secured the trafficator wiring to the chassis apparently...; basically they are rare as unicorns and one comment mentioned he thought they were also used on Morris Minors...
So they clip on in the opposite sense to the Radiator Hose clip.
Moss Europe list them as Not Available.

Unsurprising Basil doesn't have them, presumably following his rebuild decades ago.

The clips fit to the vertical right hand side of the radiator, to secure the overflow tube (looking from the front) the tube vents to the ground.

:D
I was asking taupe about the ones that are only on the MM/SII as per the illustration I posted from the parts book.
They seem to hold a bit of 'wire' to the bottom of a rubber flap, but to what purpose ....
