LCV Pick up interior trim

Hi Guys,
As I am restoring an Australian LCV (Ute), there's a chance that it may be different, but...

Can anyone advise what the interior of the cab rear panel was trimmed with (if anything) around the rear window and down to below the seat?

Most of ours were fitted with bench seats, but I still need to decide what to do about the metal work around the window etc. If it has some sort of trim/upholstery I won't have to worry as much about the finish being as pretty when painted.

No trim around the window on pick up or below the seat pick up and van. Small piece of Millboard covering the aperture on the B post around where the trafficator was housed and later top seat belt mounting.

The black vinyl headliner in my ‘59 pickup was sagging badly so I cautiously started to investigate. It was tucked up under the channel surrounding the door openings and screen and partially glued to a warped piece of hardboard suspended by the same. Above the hardboard was some sort of white batting. Maybe polyester or fiberglass not attached to anything. In the batting were mouse tunnels!
The interior roof is not so well painted. While escorting the wife to Hobby Lobby I spotted some grey foam backed upholstery fabric as well as grey vinyl. I don’t have any wires or bows and don’t know where to source them over here. Im thinking about contact cementing fabric directly to the roof panel. Any suggestions on how to finish the joint between the roof and rear bulkhead or is my approach completely wrong?
Im afraid of what I’ll find behind all those screws holding the vinyl to the rear bulkhead. Feels like more hardboard. Hopefully to tight for more mice.

I took out the bulkhead vinyl too and may have found the remains of the culprit behind the left seat. He left some paint and rust damage. There is a considerable usable space between the metal and hardboard. Im thinking it might be large enough for a rifle rack. Maybe big enough to hide my Pedersoli replica Gibbs long range muzzle loader in the lockable interior space. Sure beats leaving it in the bed or exposed in the passenger seat. On the down side there are many little holes in the rear window surround from the sheet metal screws that held the backing.

I found some 3/4” closed cell packing foam plastic out in the garage. I trimmed and joined a couple pieces and stuffed it in place. It actually looks pretty good but doubt it would hold up to UV and other environmental conditions. I’ll cover it with fabric. Compression is holding it up as is but I’ll use some double stick to be sure. Should do the job and be less messy than contact cement. Im debating how to finish the rest. Maybe carpet on the lower bulkhead?
Would fabric covered door cards and kick panels hold up ?
