Brake pedal return spring

Can anyone show me a piccy of the brake pedal return spring and where it attaches at each end.
I can see it on a parts diagram but it's not clear where it attaches. The car does not have one and I can't see anything for the spring to attach to at the non-pedal end. (I'm assuming the spring is two or three inches long).

Further to the post from Bill, this picture shows the spring, it attaches to a hook arrangement welded in the chassis leg.

Thanks, I did search but it hit lots and lots of other brake springs (like the beehive things).
But that link you posted contains the money shot. Looks like I'm going to be knocking up a new anchor point and buying a spring.

I'm assuming that when the pedal is fully up the spring is almost in its un-stretched state

Thanks Les. That's exactly the pic I need. Unfortunately I can see nothing resembling that on our chassis so i guess I'll be making one, but only after I have spent a while sulking about having to remove that large gearbox cover to get access.

In a previous post I think Phil suggested drilling a hole and drop a split pin through, hook spring in eye and bend the legs out under the chassis rail. Saves any welding. Isn't it under the smaller master cylinder cover not the main gearbox cover?

I don’t recall seeing a grease fitting on my LHD pickup brake. Wonder if it broke off or was never there. I can see how working on a RHD might be easier without the exhaust pipe in the way or is the transmission in the way of removing the clutch pedal?

I think you make a bracket and hold it with a nut and bolt

There was never a factory fitted grease nipple fitted to the brake pedal. Any grease nipple would have been fitted post factory. It is a good modification and I highly recommend that it is done. It near eliminates any wear to the shaft and pedal bearing. I have a grease nipple fitted to my brake pedal but it is a 90 degree nipple so as I can get to it without much difficulty when all is assembled.

Without my having to ask, my mechanic fitted a nipple there when replacing the spring and shaft. This addresses not just wear, but corrosion (like mine!) on the shaft.
