How to tell an MM speedo from an early Series 2 speedo

Hi,
I thought I should create this separate post from the one where I originally posted this information, as I wanted to bring it to the attention of any new members who are either now the proud owners of an early split screen Morris Minor or who, having joined us, are now looking at getting hold of one.
I have been made aware by Bryan that there is a diffence between an MM speedo and one for an early Series 2 (the small ones located in front of the driver, as opposed to the later larger centrally mounted speedo).
The MM speedo is designated by the number 1600 under the needle and the Series 2 by the number 1000, see images below.
I would imagine this was because they were calibrated differently, namely an MM would be for a 918 sidevalve engine and a Series 2 an 803 OHV unit.

Yes, they have different Differential ratio therefore different turn per mile (TPM) which is what the 1600 and 1000 indicate.
