Waiting for parts from Old Phartz Partz...and Mini City too...
Oh this should a be quick fix...well it sorta was but it sorta was not at the same time...
Still not sure what this medal means...the car originally came from Denmark....so it could be something...just not sure what...
Then you start poking around and you get the ole Swiss cheese tin worm farm...
This hurts looking at it...
Have now fear...the patch panels are here....
Let the games begin I say....
fire up the ole pipe and get the grinder all warmed up too....
More to come

More to come...
Trimming out the rusty stuff and making all this stuff fit together again...
I have never done one of these before but my theory is save as much OEM metal as you can...it is way better quality than the new repo as far as the weldability of the steel
Trying to make stuff look like they belong there...
Last week I did a very bad thing...I welded into the quarter panel flange area...5/16x18 UNC weldable nuts...
I know this is NOT a good thing...but I have wrenches that I can use for this size fasteners...
Still not sure what I am doing with this car but I am having a blast cutting and welding...
My great grandfather was a blacksmith...maybe that is why I like to weld and cut and tack and repeat this stuff over and over again...

DOMI Dansk Oversøisk Motor Industri A/S
The Danish Importer of British Motor Vehicles after WWII; it lasted until the 1990s.
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/DOMI_(Unternehmen)
Many counties where Morris exported to had specific national Importer organisations/companies; depending on the country, they had a degree of autonomy, Australia for example even had their own local paint colours.
I believe the USA never had such a set up and Morris/BMC instead dealt directly with multiple US Dealerships, whereas VW did have such an importer organisation. Perhaps one reason for VW success with the Beetle.

Re: 1954 Miss Rachel is my redemption Morris series II
Still fiddling with this left rear wing...I think I counted 10 separate patches that I welded into it...and I was not the first guy doing this before...lots of older patches that still looked decent too...so I left them...
Had ordered these new rubbers for the I think it is called a "strut rod"...the new pieces looked great too all tightened down...
Installed a new fuel line as well...I figured what the heck...for the price is it worth not to swap it out...
Someone before me had installed this little set up where the fuel line runs into the tank...so I thought that was OEM...well according to my Morris Minor guru...this was not a stock item...
This is the bottom of the left rear wing...not sure how it was supposed to look so I cobbled up these patches...
Still smiling we are....
