Did you fit static or inertia belts?
On my Morris 1000 I have inertia belts, but on my MM convertible I have static ones. Entirely up to you.

My Minor is a late one, 1969, and it had static belts already fitted when I got the car in 1989. These had a buckle similar to an aircraft passenger seat belt. They were fine but have to be adjusted every time you buckle them and they do restrict free movement. When the belts frayed and would no longer pass an MoT test I had them replaced with inertia reel seat belts. These are more comfortable but there are still annoyances. The reel is something to trip over for passengers getting in the back but I do not often have passengers in the back. If the car is on an incline sometimes the reel locks and will not feed out the belt. Inexplicably, passengers manage to twist the belt in ways that take ages to put right.
