Door Hinges

Post by westfild »

Could someone please advise. Is there a unique code number for the door hinges for a morris minor van. Or are they all the same. Thank you in advance

Do you mean part number, why would hinges have a code number?
ESM have hinges on there site and will tell you what fits your vehicle if you ask them.

To answer your question: Yes, there is a unique part number for each hinge assembly. The original factory part numbers are used by some suppliers whilst others have their own part numbers. Hinges may differ depending on model and year of vehicle, top, bottom, left, right, front, rear. If you need a hinge nor two, then most suppliers will be able to tell you what part number to order; and most allow you to search their website. Club spares (see Minor Matters) might also be able to assist.

What is the problem that you are trying to fix?

I would suggest that the 4 door saloon has the same hinges a the van/pickup. There are numbers cast into the hinges to discriminate.

thank you all for you input, I bought an unfinished project and the door hinges have different numbers stamped on them. So I am just trying to establish if which is the correct markings
