Kph Speedo?

Post by rh8369 »

Evening all, I don’t suppose along with the hens teeth, four leafed clovers and unicorns in people’s garages anyone has a kph Speedo for sale do they? I have the traditional mph/kph but car is moving permanently to France so it would be nice to change it over.

I do not have one for sale but I got mine from Ebay Deutschland a few years ago. It came from a mini in München and the only difference is the green blinker at the 80kmh marker. I intend to wire it up to the indicator warning light some time.

It will need calibrating and as I remember it, I had to canabilise the backplate as the voltage regulator was in a different place. The calbrating by the way I made by trial and error, bending the coil wire as appropriate.

A general pic is attached - I can make a closer one if desired.

It's worth looking on the Morris Minor France pages as they occasionally break cars over there. https://www.facebook.com/groups/794559104794198 or contact the AMMF (Amicable Morris Minor France). A cheaper/ simple solution is to buy a kph overlay kit.
Lots of different ones online.
No calibration required, can be stuck on face or on glass :tu1:

I think a lot of the (ex) military travellers also had the speedo in KPH, so may be worth looking in that direction also.

I've got one stateside but tariffs make things difficult. If needed I can make a gift of it possibly to bypass such nonsense? BTW mine is the older bronze face
