MC Rebuild

Post by Steve S »

Is there a source for a master cylinder rebuild kit in the USA? I believe it's a 13/16" ('69 Traveler). I tried to order from ESM but they don't ship to the USA anymore. I haven't found a US-based source except for a brand new MC from Moss which is almost $300. I was also hoping to find the parts for a remote reservoir conversion.

Maybe there's a crossover rebuild kit from another car that will work?

Well, I'm afraid we all know why ESM now can't/won't ship to the USA.
Those Big Beautiful Tariffs as you've identified with the MC from MOSS.

As this message board is principally UK, with a smattering of former export market owners, you'll be better off finding a US based 'Morris Minor Forum' where they may be more up to date with US Tariff regulations.

However, I have just done a quick search on ebay.com where I found 3 reputable UK sellers for Master Cylinders, listed as exporting to the US.
So give ebay a try; it'll show you what the Shipping and Tariffs are.

Thanks, I found the MEV website but they aren't taking orders until June. I suspect the eBay ad won't ship until then either. If I can't find something suitable before that then I'll contact them.

Is the MC truly unique to this vehicle? It seems unusual, with the off the shelf mentality of the era. It seems like something else would at least use the same internals!
