For the prevaricators

Post by moggiethouable »

For the prevaricators like me.
I have just come home after depositing a grandchild at school.
On the way back I got stuck behind a hearse travelling at 20mph, patience being the pre-requisite I stayed put.
As I closed in at a roundabout I noticed a brass coloured plaque on the rear of the coffin,
it read and I quote
"Ill do it later"
Wonderful.

:D Got to love a good epitaph, and the idea of it being on the foot of the coffin. It's obviously intended for the like of drivers following or those at the funeral looking at the coffin during the event.

Must be a relation to a sadly missed old boy I knew, when in a reflective mood he would often say ———-
‘ never put off ‘till tomorrow——what you can do the day after’ he was a one off in many ways.

Not if you apply it rigorously each day - then you can put the task off indefinitely! :D

I think "I told them I was ill" is on Spike Milligan's gravestone.

My wife complains about me constantly saying "I will get round to it eventually".
I am now retired and life should be taken in the slow lane. 8)

In a previous job my position was a step in the review and approval process for engineering changes. People would frequently bring me their paperwork hoping to get special attention. My usual response was put it on the pile and I’ll do it when I get around to it. On one occasion a draftsmen brought over his request and a crude wooden disc with “TUIT” carved into it.”what’s this” I asked. “It’s a round tuit, so you can do my job now”.

The graveyard authorities wouldn’t allow it. So it’s written in Gaelic. For an even funnier Spike-ism, video search his name plus “children to be thin”
