Wiper Motor Problem

Thw wipers aren't working.
There is 12 volts to the input side of the motor.
I have cleaned the self parking mechanism and the contacts and regreased the mechanism.
I have tried taking power straight from the battery to the terminals on the wiper motor and there is no sign of life coming from the motor.
Any ideas what else to try?

I guess the question I have is if running wires direct from the battery to the two spade terminals on the wiper motor, do I also need to run a wire from the battery to the self parking mechanism to check if it is working?

If the bushes in the motor are worn would this stop it working completely? At the moment there is no noise or sign of life from the motor at all?

The car doesn’t see much rain and have had little use. The wipers haven’t worked since the car has come out of winter hibernation !

You need to be very careful about the electrical connections to the wiper motor as they are not what you might expect.

The wiper motor is permanently connected to live (green wire) when the ignition is on. The other two connections are both to earth. One earth connection is switched earth via the wiper switch on the dashboard. That is for normal wiper operation. That wire is black/green. The last connection is directly to earth and is for the self-parking (black wire).
