drag and drop a photo

Trying desperately to learn how to upload photos either direct from camera or from the image sent from camera to my PC
I tried using the Attachment button and found the photo and was asked to 'place inline' but no photo. Do I have to 'pair my phone using the QR code?
I tried drag and drop to this box which I assume is the 'message box' referred to? but no joy there. It just invites me to 'place inline' again or delete.
Technology and terminology is changing to fast for my 84 year old brain! Help!
PS just pressed preview and the photos appear! problem solved ? I note the photo is too small can readers enlarge it or do I have to do something else?

Unless you can enlarge the photo you cant help with solving the question about the car!??

That's an incredibly small image, 2.24Kb is Avatar size on a website.
I don't understand how you have something so small, the phone will have taken something measured in Mb.

When you are on the Attachments Tab, you will only see [Place inline] and [Delete] after it is added.
At that point, illustrated below, if you do click [PREVIEW] you will get a preview of your post where you can check it.
A surprising number of people seem to not use the Preview to for example, proof read their post.

The Image will appear with the WHITE OUTLINE titled Attachment.

If you position your flashing cursor in the text box and then click [Place inline], the image will be placed inline where you had selected with the cursor.
You will be able to see it if you click [Preview] again.
So now that's explained, the problem we have is why your image is so darn tiny...

The basic drag and drop is fine, and you appear to be usng it correctly, or you can browse for a file. If the image is inline then you will get something like:

• TEXT
  Image
  TEXT

where not in line you will get

• TEXT
  TEXT
  Image

As Berni says, it is your image that is so small, which comes from your phone/camera. Typical problems are rotated images. These occur because the metadata with the image records which way up it was taken, sand the Messageboard always displays it that way round. If you are using a PC, then open the image in your preferred application, size and rotate it as required; and then use the Snipping Tool to copy the image to a new file, and use that as your upload to the MB. This seems to cure most problems.

Thanks guys, Yes I w3as happy to see that at least there was an image! something has happened to the size going from phone to PC. I will sort that and try again!

I've also found that cropping the original image even slightly and saving it keeps the format chosen for when its then posted on the forum. I assume because its no longer reading the original meta data.
