Position of exhaust mount

Post by BobM »

Hi All,
I would be very pleased, if someone could indicate the correct position of the bolt hole for the exhaust mount under the rear seat. I have replaced the floor & spring mount in this area. So only have a rough idea of it's position. Offering up the three part stainless system does little to pin point the spot.

I have had a look and unfortunately I don't have a decent photo in my photo archive (my car is away at the moment).

It is under the back seat on the left hand side of the car if you were sitting in the car looking forwards.

This is a picture from underneath. You can see the hanger and what it is doing. It is pulling the exhaust towards the centre of the car to stop the exhaust banging against the leaf spring.

I was in Ted today and took these pictures under the back seat. I'd repaired the area and re-drilled the hole but it's pretty much where it was.

I did find this. This is the original position; my car has not been welded.

I think that arrow is a bit off .....that is pointing to one of the two suspension plate rivets

I think the exhaust bolt is a little to the left under the seat belt buckle?

Yes I think you're right. It's not a good picture but the only one I have. I am very frustrated that my car is still away for paint and massively overdue otherwise I would have taken a better picture.
