Steel wire - any ideas?

Post by KevinB »

Just found this steel wire in the right hand glove box. What is it please?

It seems to come down from the top right corner of the screen.

Headlining wire. From the looks of that loop, the screw has come out.
I'd guess the headlining is a bit 'loose' on that side if you press it gently.

Bang on! Thank you.

Yes, the headlining is a bit loose on that side (I hadn't noticed) and if I pull that wire, it tightens! So I guess I should fix it to a screw.

I suspect the screw might have completely fallen out, since that loop is quite neat.
You might have to look for the (hopefully still there) one on the other side, to get an idea where it goes.
The ones on my SII are quite high up in the corner, but that doesn't mean they are in the factory correct place. :-?
