Slowwwwww

Is it just me or has the message board slowed down a lot over the last couple of days.

Well I was away from home all weekend, so can't really comment on the past few days, but I agree it seems sluggish this morning and it was down for a short while last Wednesday or Thursday morning.

Todays it's taking around 10-12 seconds to switch between pages, which is a bit slower than usual.
I'm on full fibre and download speed is around 150Mb direct LAN connection to the router, not the WiFi.

And on trying to Submit this (around 11:14 UK time), the Server is Down.......
Came back up around 11:17, but still around 10 sec delay on responding...

Similar issue to what I'm having, maybe a slightly longer delay.

Smacks of a mass bot attack where the system is overwhelmed with multiple registration attempts. Happens quite a lot on the Mini Forum.

Even worse (and slower) today.

I wonder if other sites don't get affected so much as a lot of them switched to Discourse forum software, I mean it shouldn't make a difference with a DDOS attack, but it does seem strange that the MMOC appears to get more of its' fair share (or is affected more) than other sites seem to be.

It is a sustained attack by "bad actors" from foreign shores. We suffered this about a year ago and I put in some additional security features. They are back with a vengeance, no idea why, they are not logging in, just opening sessions and hitting our resources. I am looking at some some further measures, but it will take a few days as I have other things on the go as well. The people behind this type of attack are selfish small-minded [insert your choice of insult here]

It's pretty quick right now, despite there being 4376 guests on the system.
Oddly enough, I've not had to Log In for about a week, even when it's come back from being totally overloaded and unavailable, I've remained logged in..... :-?

Been getting Error Messages again this morning and it's pretty slow when not in 'Error'.

Currently showing there are 3629 users online so not anywhere near the numbers we were getting :-?
