Indicator stalk light - 1970 Traveller - issue

Having finished the front end rebuild I am now refitting all the front lights and trying to get them to work! After much fiddling with poor earths ,lights both front and rear are now operational EXCEPT the stalk warning green flasher light. Well it does work incorrectly in that it flashes in all 3 positions - left, right and off (central)
Any suggestions would help - thanks!

The first thing is to check the three wires going to the flasher unit under the bonnet. Ignore the buzzicator wires. I have led bulbs so the flasher unit is led compatible but the connections are the same. Hope it helps.

Are you using a standard thermal Lucas Fl5 flasher unit?

Flasher unit=43 in diagram

LG=light green G=green GN=green/brown
B=battery; P=pilot; L=lamps (load)
On a later flasher unit terminals are sometimes labelled B, P, X=flashed output

Assuming you have wired everything correctly, the most likely problem is a faulty flasher unit. For reasons I do not understand, these seem to be highly unreliable now. Very old original units give very little trouble. New, reproduction ones seem to be utter rubbish

Absolutely agree. I had nothing but trouble with a modern Lucas flasher unit sold as a replacement for the original Lucas FL5 type. It didn't work properly, neither did the replacement. The company that sold it didn't want the unit back so I took it apart and it was electronic inside, not thermal as with the original. I sourced an original Lucas Fl5 and it everything worked exactly as it should.

So the flashers ticks all the time?
Pull the connector off the flasher's P terminal, and report back on how it all behaves.

Being aftermarket - so not (?) a concern for the OP - isn't King Kenny's buzzicator actually connected to to the flasher's P terminal, not the L? If the flasher is expecting a low current (<<42W) load, surely the buzzer in this diagram would trigger it all the time.
Sudden thought: maybe the OP has a buzzer, and it's wired like King Kenny's?

You could have a point there. OP says the Tell-tale lamp is flashing without being connected to the Indicators.
Clearly a wrong connection somewhere.
From past experience, there's very likely something else happening that we haven't yet been told about.
We all sit here trying to explain it as though it's 'standard', and then we find out it's not...

Two posts in 2 years... From the title it's a 1970 Traveller but no indication as to whether it's got, or getting, any modifications...
