Highway yellow :-)

Too old for Limeflower I think, being a 1962 car. But definitely Highway Yellow even though people love telling me that it's not an original colour (which of course it is)!

Did this work? Aah it did! Thank you!
This is Daisy who I met at the weekend. My filters on my ipad make her look a bright, almost azure blue, but she was closer to a duck egg blue irl
Sometimes a respray, which is not uncommon, can alter the colour slightly if the match is not perfect, which is neither here nor there as long as you can get a match with possible touch ups as years pass by.
That to my eye looks like clipper blue but not knowing the year of the car I am not certain, it could be bermuda blue.
It looks like it has semaphore indicators?
A lovely old touch, but people dont see them on the roads these days, sometimes the car is also fitted with usual indicators too, clipped on the bumper bars sometimes.
For colours mods and changes a good book is Lindsay Porters book, Morris minor & 1000.

The 1950s pastel colours. MM- S III are the nicest. Platinum Grey / Empire Green, Clarendon Grey / Sage green. Though a non-faded. Maroon B is rather good too.

I think she might be clipper blue. She apparently still has the old trafficators (is that the same as semaphore?). A previous owner placed metal plates over them when he upgraded to normal indicators. The current owner has never checked to see if they are still under there and still working… but if I do end up with her I will be very tempted to do that

Yes indeed, semaphore, showing my age.
I would be tempted too, though they were not always reliable.
As a child in an uncles Morris I recall a police traffic chap (remember those?) probably not, stopping all the traffic at a crossroads and strolling over to the car.
"Perhaps sir you could advise me which way you intend to travel" says he, stooping slightly with both hands behind his back.
Both the left and right trafficators were jammed in the out position.
Happy days.

Yes, Trafficator is the usual British English Term, often referred to as Semaphore in some 'overseas' English  .

Export cars, starting early 1950s with the North American market were fitted with the DB10 Relay system to provide a Red Indicator at the rear and a White one to the front.
In the UK market, this was introduced in 1961 and lasted until the change to actual Amber Indicators in '63.
So all those pre 63 cars had the metal blanking plates fitted.
I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think the blanking plate would fit if the Trafficator was still in there.

My 1955 was refurbish late 1990s and they fitted the DB10 system, but left the Trafficators hanging in their slots.
I've reintroduced them to accompany the Red Indicators to the rear, whilst having Amber to the front, as the side lights are now in the headlamps.

Be a shame if they aren’t in there as I’d love to see them in action. But it’s not a deal breaker… I wouldn’t intend on using them on the road. I think they would confuse the modern day motorist

Yes, I doubt they are there. I bought a similar car many years ago with plates over the trafficator slots. I removed the plates and, as suspected, the trafficators and their mounting brackets were absent. This was because the trafficator mounting bracket holes in the body were now used to bolt the plates in position. Luckily there was a rust-bucket SII in a nearby garden and the owner let me remove what I wanted before he sent it to the scrap-yard. Along with a few other bits, I removed the trafficators, together with their mounting brackets and re-installed them in my car 8) Then I had indicators working off the original switch and the trafficators operating off another vintage switch so they could be used independently. Same arrangement on my present car, the trafficators are really for fun - I generally use the indicators for normal driving.
You should be able to do the same. If you do, be aware that the 4-door mounting brackets are different to the 2-door ones.

With the help of a couple of relays from a Ford Mondeo we have 'normal' indicators front and rear as well as the trafficators.

Basil's Trafficators make a reassuring clunk when they deploy and when they return.
Also, they are clearly visible in the wing mirrors.

Berni mine is 62 build with DB10, originally red rear white front indicators, but there's no blanking plate over trafficator slot. It has what looks like a original panel pressing where they would of been on earlier minors.

Thanks for that Bill, I've just checked the Parts Lists and the applicability for the blanking panel concludes with start of the DB10s on Home Market cars in Aug 61.
I'd always thought they had arbitrarily switched to fitting 'Indicators' in 61 and only changed the body pressings when they introduced the separate Indicators and all the other little changes for the S5; always good to learn something new. :tu1:

I think I got this incorrect idea from the way it's presented in Ray Newell's Original Morris Minor.
There's a photo of the B Post like yours, saying it was post Trafficators, but it's in the S5 (62-71) section of the book.
Reading the caption again carefully, it doesn't say it was for S5, just that it was post Trafficators.
I guess it was an editorial thing where they placed the photo...
