Minor Matters Technical Tips

Post by GLT819C »

Sorting through a pile of CD's collecting dust under the PC. I have come across a CD Rom of some Technical tips from Minor Matters. You need to have Windows 7 and Word 6 for it to run. But i can see the word documents, open and veiw them. It looks like it dates from 2000. It looks to be an updated version of the MMOC Technical Manual (1998). Has there been an updated version of this?

Not that I know off.
I enquired at MMOC Derby some time back if the CD was still available and it was supposedly available but what version it was being issued under I do not know.
I still refer to my original paper copy of 'Technical Tips'.

I knew I had a copy of the CD ROM version and it is shown here, dated 1999, version 1.7 (for some reason it will not view the right way up!). I also have the paper copy from 1988 and also another paper copy from 1997. With all the improvements in technology over the last 25 years or so, an update would be helpful to a lot of newer members.

Thank you! No matter how many times I turned it the right way up and saved it, it defiantly stayed upside down!

Crop the width slightly, turned it. I believe it the way the site reads the file.

As regards the style of format I would prefer a paper format instead of a digital format as the paper format will stay accessible for much longer especially as the digital access gets updated and the previous digital access becomes obsolete and non accessible.
My old paper 'Technical Tips is kept in a 4 ring folder so that any pages of update (from any source) can be added as and when required.

I agree that the paper format is more practical. Mine is also in a ring binder with instructions from various modifications over the years inserted at the back.

I’m new to MM ownership so would no doubt find the technical tips very useful.

Does anyone have a pdf document of them or similar file they would be willing to share?
