Rear pinion oil seal?

I need to replace the seal in the diff but ESM don't have any stock of the Speedi-sleeves so I just
wondered if anyone knew the number or size that I need please.
I'm assuming the worst and that the pinion is grooved and a sleeve would be the cheaper option.

1-1/2" 99149, or 99150.

With ‘one day’ delivery offerings, I would have waited before jumping in for a potentially unnecessary repair. There is a fair chance it only requires an oil seal, if that.

I am assuming you have already ruled out a too-high oil level or a blocked axle breather?

This van is new to me and as such I changed all the fluids and filter less than 1000 miles ago and
when I did the rear axle I naturally cleaned out the breather also.
Since driving it though I have found that the axle pinion leaks as does the sump gasket so have ordered
the necessary parts to do the both of these works.

In my experience, I have rarely found a good surface that I am happy with so I always either replace, if
practical, or usually the cheaper option is to speedi sleeve it.

I'm afraid I can't see any point myself in going to all the trouble of renewing the seal unless the running
surface is perfect, but then we're all different in our approach I guess.

Previously I would say that just replacing the oil seal is enough and it's unlikely that a Speedisleeve would be needed. However, I was caught out with a rear hub oil seal this year. I thought the running surface was fine and just replaced the oil seal but it still leaked. With a Speedisleeve it's now fine. Only one side needed a sleeve though. Personally I wouldn't have Speedisleeves in my spares because they're expensive and generally not needed.
