Newbie
Howdy, new member here from Austin, Texas. Just became the owner of a rhd 1961 Minor 1000. 32,000 miles, all original, never repainted, never modded, starts and runs great.
Glad to have found this website with so much information and experience to share!
Going to have to buy some Whitworth tools before jumping into any projects like improving the brakes, fixing the semaphores, getting the wipers going, etc.
Thanks,
Saxet0001 (1000Texas)

Welcome to the world of Morris Minors. As well as Whitworth tools a set of BA combination spanners is very useful. BA fixings are used on electrical stuff like the wiper motor and the hockey sticks at the front of the car as well various other body fittings.

Re: Newbie
Interesting vintage, it may be a very early transition (dual personality) Minor. It has the wide pleats and open glove boxes. The driver's seat appears to have been overstuffed. Check the straps underneath. If you have a need to connect with other closer to you the MorrsMinorForum.com may be useful. There are a few members in Texas.

Nice rust free looking car. Welcome
Interestingly 5423 BY is still on the UK's DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) database. Last time the V5 log book was updated was July 1985 which im guessing was about the time it was shipped to the US.

Wes,
Nice tip. Clears up whether or not it came over on the Mayflower.
