the two laygear bearing are fixes with two circlips. I wanted to install the inner clip on the end with the bigger gear and noticed to late that there are two groovers inside. Now the inner circlip is in the first one, should be in the second one. The roller bearing does not fit now.
Is there a way to remove it?
I was too stupid to remove the snap rings from the old part
Is there a special tool for removing the circlips?
Would be glad about every tip that could help me fixing that problem
regards
Joachim

The inner circlips remains in place. The outer circlips are removed and discarded.
The outer circlips are not required with the later needle bearings.
The best way to remove the outer circlips is to use a Dremel type tool and carefully grind the circlip way.

Re: removing circlip for laygear bearing from laygear
many many thanks. You make my day with this answer. I had to change the laygear because the gears are worn out at the old part. Thats why i have to install new bearings. Will try to start assembly of the gearbox tomorrow.
I know the youtube documentation and hope to finish this project soon. Hope the gearbox will work when finnished and the moggy will get back on the road again
many thanks again
kind regards
Jochim
