Rusty sills - underside welding

Hi all,

I have recently bought a 68 saloon, most of the chassis is in reasonable condition however the sills are definitely shot and will need some welding work. Does anyone have any recommendations in the London area or any information with regards to how much I should expect to pay?

Difficult question, depending on how much metal needs repair or replacing, with a Minor, or any car I suppose, removing rusty metal usually reveals more issues beyond, so an initial price will often escalate. The only place I can suggest for work is ESM minors although they are in East Sussex. Wherever you end up, I would suggest somewhere that knows about these cars.

ESM will collect cars in a covered trailer (for a fee per mile of course). They have collected my car from South London before. If it's quite a big job then the cost of the collection becomes fairly insignificant as a proportion of the total bill.
