I'd forgotten about this post. I was asking because I was about to view the car as it was for sale. However, when I went to view it, it needed too much work to get it back on the road, so I didn't buy it. I understand it was bought and taken away on a trailer soon after my visit.

It's been a minute since anyone posted on this thread.
(nearly 10 years to be exact)

I thought you guys might, or might now, be interested to know that this car is still about.

It went for restoration which was finished in 2018, by the owner before me.
Who drove the car every day until 2023, at which point I purchased it.

I drove the car for several months, and now it is off the road awaiting a full "chassis" restoration.

I'd love to know if you remember what colour the car was when you viewed it? Or any other details?

It's currently painted in Speedwell blue, which I know isn't a factory colour, however I love it, so it will be staying in the Speedwell Blue.

These are great to see!
These also shed a lot of light on why I'm seeing some of the stuff I'm seeing now.

I've attached a couple of the car as it is now, at the most recent national rally, I finally purchased the final panels I need.
Now I'm in the long haul for saving up to get the the work done!
The whole underside of the car is being done, full chassis legs, floors, etc. Unfortunately there is a lot to do....

So the car currently sits with my parents awaiting rebuild in a dry garage.

Long term plan is to stick a 1275cc engine in it. (I potentially have one sourced) And to build it up a nod to vintage rallying / racing.
As the owner before me was the father of the "lowcost" race series.

What a shame the underside was not properly dealt with during the previous restoration. The bodywork on top gooks so good .
Good luck with it. A good quality underside rebuild will last for years and years with a bit of proper protection afterwards
