Past history.
I don’t know what brought this to mind but I was thinking of Johnathan Heep of JLH, is the company still running ? However that’s not the reason for this post. I seem to recall something happening, I don’t know what, or I’ve forgotten but I think he was banned from the forum over something. Am I right and if so what had he done wrong to be dismissed? I found him quite a helpful chap. I’m pretty sure the, below the bulkhead, plate shown in the attached picture was one of his products.

Do you mean the toe plate additional strengthening plate which is part of the kit in the link below:-
https://www.jlhmorrisminors.co.uk/chass ... g-kit.html
I have never seen the need for the additional strengthening in this area especially as BMC recognised some short comings in the toe plate area and introduced additional structure strengthening of the toe plate.
The main distortion of the chassis is just in front of the crossmember and that is why I have fitted two braces between the main crossmember and the front chassis crossmember. The braces get rid of any distortion and improves the chassis handling under hard braking. Below is the O/S brace:- This may not be the primary cause but If I remember correctly there was some discussion and disagreement as regards the failure of some Minor rear shackle plates.
As far as I can tell JLH is still going strong.

Yes that’s the plate Phil, I bought it separately because I had a crack in the floor pan (photo attached) I drilled a hole each end to stop it spreading, then fitted the plate to finish the job. The picture shows what looks like a massive crack, it was infact only 4 inches or so.
Yes I can’t recall myself what happened, it seems shrouded in mystery, regarding Johnathan

I remember returning from holiday and seeing a post mentioning the ban, don't recall the reason being public but the above thread may or may not say.

I cannot comment on individual cases, but the only reason for a ban is the contravention of the Ts&Cs. I was not involved at the time of the disagreement with Jonathan, but I believe there have been instances in the past where people posted very strong criticism of the work undertaken by a trader such that the subject of the criticism (not JLH) threatened legal action. The Ts&Cs make clear that such criticism is not allowed in public forums.
Given the time that has elapsed since the disagreement with Jonathan, I think that it would be reasonable to consider it time-expired, and welcome him back if he would like to register. That is my view, not official club policy.

Thanks for the link Chief, I’ve read through and although no clear explanation, it shows pretty well unanimous condemnation of Johnathan being banned, and rightly so. A long time ago but what a shame. Some old names in those posts, where are they now ? They appear to have banned themselves !
