My Midget-engined 4-door needs new tyres. It has 4½ inch rims and, as far as I'm concerned, it boils down to a choice of two: 165 70 14s or 155 80 14s. They're both about the same price and I reckon the 155s will give a slightly sweeter steering feel. Apart from that, any advice/feelings on the matter?
Thanks.

Re: Tyre Choice for Van Rims
The latter would be my choice but the wider should be ok. Yes a narrower tyre would ease steering. There is sometimes the case that if too wide the tyre could rub on the uprights but you would probably need wider rims to fit those tyres anyway, for that to be an issue.

Thanks Les.
I've got 165 80s on at the moment, with thin spacers on the front, which I can probably ditch with the 155s. I would go back to 145s if they weren't so pricey.
The present tyres make it look like a Noddy car!
