Boot Stay

Will the boot stay in photo fit a 1958 ? JUST CHECKED ITS WRONG ONE FOR MINE.

Mines 1962 and its not the auto type shown, it's a single stay in a clip you pull down and insert into location. I believe the one in picture is for later cars but I'm sure someone will know from what year.

The type in your photo (Standard fitment from late 1964) could be fitted to an earlier car but only with quite a bit of work making attachments.
I'd be surprised if you couldn't purchase the correct boot prop by telephoning a few Morris Minor specialists. Most have a good supply of secondhand parts :wink:

If the bracket for pivot is still on your boot lid, you can but round mild steel bar from B&Q or fleebay and make one. Its easy to bend and not a complicated shape.
