Traveller hinge captive bolts

Post by NoviceM »

Hello, does anyone know a supplier of the captive bolts used to hold the rear door top hinge onto the rear timber pillar.
On removal, mine have rusted away to the point where they will probably shear when retightened.

The originals had a head with two spikes to grip the wood. Most suppliers now seem to provide normal coach bolts. These should work OK, but otherwise it might be a question of fabricating the spikes and welding them to a normal bolt.

Many thanks, I thought that might be the case, but useful to have confirmation. Cheers.
