Old photos
Hi,
I came across these online and thought people on here might like a viewing of them.....
Sadly neither TWL 77 nor DO 1076 show up on the DVLA database, so unless somebody has them in a barn somewhere.....
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: Old photos
I think a lowlight has some charm over the later models but they are nice as well.
Re: Old photos
TWL is an Oxford CBC registration, the series starting in February 1953 and finishing in April 1953. Obviously all the factory cars had Oxford registrations. I have not come across TWL 77 before.
DO 1076 is not a real registration number. Pictures of many of the prototype BMC cars have a DO 'registration' ( see pics in Skilleter for example). I dont know if DO stands for Drawing Office??

Thanks for posting. I do like the "proper" tourer without back windows.

Re: Old photos
If yiu like old photos of Minors 'in their natural habitat' as opposed to sitting on a grass field, although there are a few of them too, then this is the FB page, ostensibly of a local branch in Essex. By my calculation there are thousands of images of Minors from very early to very late.

Re: Old photos
DO did indeed stand for Drawing Office. DO1076 was the reference given to the Minor 1000 prototype cars of which 3 were built in 1956 prior to production and launch in October of that year. All 3 were given unique EX reference numbers from the Experimental Dept. Only one is known to have survived. Most prototype cars were scrapped by the factory.XWL61 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 10:10 pm TWL is an Oxford CBC registration, the series starting in February 1953 and finishing in April 1953. Re: Old photos
Yes, they are very neat and pretty, although the later models are much better known by the general public and much-loved as well.Classiccars wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 9:10 pm I think a lowlight has some charm over the later models but they are nice as well.

Off topic, but it's good to see you are still around Cam. I think I was originally a board member before your joining date. That was using a different username (sailor?) which lapsed because I didn't post anything for a time.

Re: Old photos
Two more that I spotted, these are on eBay, so I've included a link below the picture, in case someone recognises the car or the man beside it.
The proud owner with his new car I wonder?
Does anyone recognise the wall or church(?) in the background?
Best wishes,
Mike. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224554445039 ... R5jH94KZZQ
