2025 National Rally

Post by dp »

Hi,

I'm probably being stupid but I can't find any information on this year's National. Does anyone know when/where it is?

Thanks

Nothing about it on the events page of MMOC website (members area).

I don't recall seeing anything about it in Minor Matters either but my most recent copy has not arrived yet.

Great. Les where did you get the info?

I know Moreton-in-the-Marsh. I was at a course held at the Fire Service College there (not that I have anything to do with the fire service). Lovely area.

I believe that it is being held at that college, well done to the committee, sounds a good venue, mentioned in our magazine.

That's odd, my Jan/Feb edition arrived almost a week ago. :-?

It basically says it will be at Morton-in-Marsh, all bookings with be via the MMOC, not the College, and Full details will be in the next issue (March/April Edition).
There is on-site camping facilities with toilet/showers, as well as using the college accommodation, presumably that they use for their courses.

I know someone, ex-LFB officer, who used to go there too, 30-odd years ago. The whole area around The Fosse Way is lovely.

Thank you. The accommodation at the college is very good and certainly much better than I am used to on military camps! They even supply a towel and there is consistently hot water. What luxury. It's similar to what you would get in a Travelodge type place.

The National Rally being held at Moreton in the Marsh (aka Much Binding in the Marsh) Fire Training College grounds is brilliant news.
I went to school at Moreton, I helped my brother in law build his house there and way back my Minor competed in a sprint on the old airfield runway/perimeter track which is part of the training college. Another competitor at that sprint was Patsy Burt in her single seater so you can work out how long ago that was (early 1970s).
My best mate Nigel was previously the librarian at the fire college and I have attended a couple of dinners in the mess. The runways are covered in various concrete structures including a concrete ship so ship fire/rescue training can be carried out.
I shall look forward to reading more about the event and hopefully I can attend. Now in the diary :D :tu1:

As a non members you can turn up in what you like, as long as entry is paid for. Incidentally I notice you joined the forum over twenty years ago. Well done for hanging on in, many old names have disappeared to the back of beyond

A lot has changed in that time...

But I still have my first minor (aka freemog), the convertable and a pickup. All in various states of disrepair.

Current Morris non Minor is a bit older though

There should be an application form for the National on here soon.
Non members are welcome to attend. Other car clubs do attend as well. Land crabs, 1100 club to name a couple.

Yes it's working. The only thing I notice is that there is no mention of refund policy if you pre-pay for everything but have to cancel. I would certainly like to go as I am on the look out for a complete interior!
