My son is a named driver for my Morris, but now lives in the USA. His UK license is about to expire and he will then only have a New York driving licence. When he does visit the UK, he can drive the Morris, (which he was driven to school in and drove to his wedding in), but I am unsure if I will now be able to get him insured as a non-resident and without a UK driving licence.
I will probably have to ring around, but wondered if anyone else has had similar experience and has any recommendations?
Insuring non-resident driver.

Why not renew his UK licence which may help with insurance. Its an online process so can be done from anywhere.

It seems that you have to be a UK resident to renew your licence, as that would have been the easy option. He has no permanent address in the UK, so cannot renew it. Using our address is apparently a criminal offence!

Re: Insuring non-resident driver.
Are yes of course because of non residency.
If he is already on the policy as a named driver.
The insurance should except his US driving licence as licenced to drive the vehicle.
Good luck with it, I hope you can get it sorted.
