rockers and shaft interchange

Post by islecastle »

Does anybody know if the pressed steel and cast steel rocker assemblies are interchangeable I have fitted a cast steel shaft completein place of the pressed steel type on my 1967 car and it looks ok. Swapped due to excessive wear on the pressed steel assembly.

The rocker shafts are all interchangeable.
The only proviso is that you ensure that the No: 1 rocker shaft support pillar has a hole for the transfer of oil from the head to the rocker shaft. The rocker shaft locking peg was latterly moved from No: 1 pillar to No:2 pillar which effected the oil transfer through the rocker shaft support pillar.

Thanks for that. I'll have to take it down again to make sure the oil feed is lined up.
